Easy Greek Tzatziki Sauce

This Greek Tzatziki sauce recipe is usually used on Greek gyros, but it can be used as a dipping sauce, too! Tzatziki sauce is actually quite healthy, and it’s so easy to make! You just need a few simple ingredients, like cucumber, Greek yogurt, garlic, and a few seasonings!

Homemade Tzatziki Sauce

The first time I ever had tzatziki sauce was on a gyro, and that’s the only way I had it for many years. Then my husband and I took a trip to Greece for our honeymoon, and I got to see it in a whole new light!

I had no idea that it can be used in so many different ways – on various dishes, as a dipping sauce, you name it! I personally love making this sauce to dip carrots in, to eat with bread or tortilla chips, and especially to garnish the top of nice steak dinner. It adds a tart and garlicy flavor that is unmatched!

What Should I Eat Tzatziki Sauce With?

  • Top of your Greek gyro with it and a bit of ketchup, too!
  • Serve as a dipping sauce for Greek meatballs or serve along side Greek meatballs, roasted sweet potato and Brussel sprouts.
  • With pita bread, pita chips or use it as a dip with bread and vegetables (kind of like artichoke dip).
  • With grilled meats! Eat with grilled or roasted meats, and even pan-seared salmon, and of course it goes well with juicy lamb chops!
  • Use it as a salad dressing! Make a salad topped with tomatoes, cucumbers, and then drizzle on the tzatziki sauce.
  • Top off your baked potato, falafel bowl, or yogurt-marinated chicken skewers.

How Do You Eat Your Tzatziki Sauce?

I’d love to hear how you eat your tzatziki! What do you pair it with? Do you use it as a dipping sauce, do you like it best with a particular dish? Share all the deets with us in the comment section below! 馃檪
