Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups cold water
- 3/4 cup uncooked white rice
- 2 cups milk
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Optional Toppings
- ground cinnamon
- raisins
- cacao nibs
Instructions
- COOK THE RICE: In a small pot, over high heat, bring the water to a boil, then add the uncooked white rice. Reduce heat to low and cover the pot, and let it simmer for 12 to 20 minutes (depending on the kind of rice you're using).1 1/2 cups cold water, 3/4 cup uncooked white rice
- ADD INGREDIENTS: Once the rice is cooked, bring heat to medium, and add 1.5 cups of the milk (reserve the remaining half-cup), sugar, and salt. Mix together to combine. Cook for about 10 to 15 minutes, stirring often.Add in the reserved half-cup of milk and the egg, stirring for two minutes over medium heat.
